Legal Secretary Careers in the UK
As much as I learnt new skills they were all surrounded by the same sort of thing – admin and
secretarial skills. These are great but I reached a point where I really wanted to try something new. My last role taught me about communication with high profile clients and executives and it gave me a taste for wanting me. I spoke to my company and they were not in a position to give me anything that was too different to what I was already doing. I loved the job and the role but for me, it was definitely time for something new.

The Search for a New Challenge
So, for me it was time to search for a new job. There were actually many jobs that could match my
skills, many of them with a better wage than what I was earning at the time. However, I decided that if I wanted something new then going to a different secretarial job would not suit me. Instead I needed to learn something new, so that I could meet my own challenge.

I spent a little time researching all of the different options open to me. The thought was a little daunting at first because I had not been in education for a number of years. However, what caught my eye was a legal secretary course. I loved the idea of working in the legal industry, I had seen details of a number of roles that would interest me but that I didn’t quite have the skills for.

For me the best way forward was to take part in a legal secretary course part time. This has allowed me to continue in my current role while I study and so far it’s working out great!
