Believe it or not but we all do have talents. Some people discover some or all of their talents. Some people, unfortunately, do not discover any talents they possess. You should be aware of your talents. Once you are aware of your talents, you should always exploit them.

We have heard of talent spotting. Let us look at a teenager who plays tennis or footballer and someone with a professional eye can spot raw talent. They will then need to give that player extra coaching in order to develop that talent. It will take dedication from both parties but even more so from the younger person.

The player has to be dedicated and work hard in order to achieve success. There may be the case that the player is distracted. He or she is growing up and does not want to or feel they do not need to be coached every day. They may think they are good and naturally talented as they are beating other players so there is no need for practice. The coach may try to talk to that player but he cannot make him come to
practice.

Life goes on as the player is now stepping into the outside world where he is playing those outside of his club and then further afield. He soon finds that he is losing and becomes disillusioned but they never ever seem to regret the days they called in sick. They blame others.

In the same way, you need to be aware of your talent and boost it. Talents can vary greatly. It could one of many things as making good decisions as you are a logical thinker; leadership qualities whereby others seek your advice; good people skills; you enjoyed maths at school and love numbers etc.

How can you boost any talent you have discovered? Let us look at someone who was good at maths at school and achieved a high mark at GCSE. Now employed in the job of their dreams where they are dealing with figures in Accounts department. As a newcomer in the department, they will be doing mundane jobs such as entering data. If they just keep at that job over the next five years, they will be stuck in a rut. They will not understand what happens with all the data entered. They will never get
nor understand the big picture.

But, if they are aware of that special talent and decide to do something about it then they will be
capitalising on that talent and will therefore reap the rewards.

This means they follow the path of their talent by enrolling on a book keeping course so they have a clearer understanding of the purpose of the data they entered. This can further improve their job prospects, raise their status in the company, earn respect from colleagues and can even drive them to further their studies.

This career progress starts with you realizing your talents and profiting from them.
